Though I’m personally a little late to the Dying Light party, I’m excited to hear about a brand new expansion coming to the game: Dying Light: The Following, which not only expands the story, but also adds drivable vehicles to the game!
Last week Techland launched a trailer celebrating “Half a Year with Dying Light” which teased drivable vehicles. Now, the cat is out the bag and in an upcoming expansion free for Season Pass holders, players will be able to take to the road with all-terrain dirt buggies.
Today Techland has confirmed that Dying Light: The Following is in the works, a “feature-heavy, story-based expansion pack”.
In a Statement, Dying Light: The Following producer, Tymon Smektala said:
For Dying Light: The Following we’re adding a number of bold game-changers to create one massive expansion. Something big that will give the game a brand-new flavor. The new map alone is the same size as all the previous maps from Dying Light combined, so there is a lot we’re packing in here.
We also kept a close eye on player feedback to help tailor what we’ve created here. Hopefully people will see that this new expansion is first and foremost, for the fans.
Dying Light: The Following will be available to purchase separately as well as coming free as part of the game’s Season Pass. It’s set to be revealed fully shortly after Gamescom. Until then, here’s a few screenshots:
