Fighting game and Pokémon fans rejoice! We’ve been acknowledged by The Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara.
With the upcoming release of Pokkén Tournament in Japanese arcades, everyone has been excited to see how it plays and if there’ll be a western release. With trademarks being filed in EU, and the US Pokémon Company division releasing a trailer for the game last year, acknowledgement has been given to western audiences – though the trademarks being filed could just be covering their bases for legal purposes.
Recently in a recent episode of NHK World’s Imagine-Nation, The Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara and Namco’s Katsuhiro Harada mentioned the possibility of Pokkén Tournament being released outside of Japan has been noted and they’re well aware of it, which is good news!
For now, all we can do is wait and drool over Pokkén Tournament’s sweetness. For those not in the know, the game features a bunch of Pokémon duking it out in a Tekken-style fight. Playable creatures include Pikachu, Machamp, Suicune and my personal favourite, Charizard.
