The social network has had a few different logos over the years but the newest look is rather… underwhelming. Though not a complete redesign, the new logo is simply a much cleaner version than before as seen in the tweet below from Christophe Tauziet, product designer at Facebook.

If you can’t see the difference there’s no need to panic. The refreshed look means that the word ‘facebook’ is simply cleaned up in terms of font, spacing and thinner lettering. The biggest change is that the ‘a’ has changed dramatically since the older version.
Speaking to Brand New, Facebook’s Josh Higgins, Facebook creative director, said that the company “set out to modernize the logo to make it feel more friendly and approachable.” He continued by adding that “While we explored many directions, ultimately we decided that we only needed an update, and not a full redesign.”
