If you thought the GoPro Hero was small, then you’ll probably be surprised to hear that the action camera company has gone even smaller with the GoPro Hero 4 Session, a brand new camera the company unveiled today.
GoPro claim the device is 50 per cent smaller and 40 per cent lighter and combines ultra-compact waterproof design, with the simple one-button controls for ease of use. The GoPro Hero 4 Session is built fully waterproof with no need for a separate housing, something which many have been looking forward to, for some time.
The device, while tiny, does come with the usual GoPro price attached however at $399.99. The device is expected to launch on July 12, 2015.
In terms of technical specifications the GoPro Hero 4 Session captures “GoPro-quality” 1080p60, 720p100, and 1440p30 video along with eight megapixel photos in Single, Burst, and Timelapse mode.
It also comes with SuperView, Protune, and Auto Low Light recording modes as well as “an expanded set of controls and settings can be accessed when using the GoPro App or Smart Remote,” announced GoPro in a press release.
Finally one of the most impressive, yet possibly confusing features, is the one-button operation that allows the user to simply press once to turn on and begin recording, press long to power it on and trigger the Time Lapse mode, finally another press of the button saves the image or video and powers the camera off.
Priced at $399.99 or £329.99 the device will be available on July 12.
