Today Bigben Interactive and French racing game developer Kylotonn Games have released the first gameplay trailer for the official 2015 FIA World Rally Championship game, WRC5, which shows off the VW Polo R WRC thrashing through the “mythical roads” of the Vodafone Rally de Portugal.
Set to launch on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PS Vita this Autumn, the game’s first gameplay trailer shows off footage from the beta version of the game and throws players behind the wheel with French driver Sébastien Ogier on the roads of Vodafone Rally de Portugal which is made up of 90 per cent gravel, and 10 per cent asphault.
As this is beta footage, Bigben are keen to point out that some elements are missing from the video that’ll be in the final game, such as the HUD, and audio/visual placenotes, as these elements are still being worked on by the developers.
With DIRT Rally currently only available on PC, it seems WRC5 will beat DIRT to the punch as the first rally game on current-gen consoles, and I’m quite looking forward to it.
WRC5 is due for release this Autumn.
