Despite the demise of Silent Hills, a project that saw Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima and movie director Guillermo del Toro working together, it seems the two haven’t quite parted ways just yet.
In what seems like an endless saga between Kojima Productions and Konami, it’s nice to hear that Kojima may be working on something else, finally. The news comes via IGN who spoke with del Toro who said:
I love working with Kojima-san. We are still in touch. We are still friends and working into doing something together, but that’s not going to be [Silent Hills].
In addition to revealing that the two may still be working together, del Toro also touched upon the now-cancelled Silent Hills saying:
We were in the planning stages, and it’s a shame it’s not going to happen,” del Toro said. “We were talking about really pushing the boundaries of the new consoles, and making the game really mess with your head. One of the great moments in Metal Gear [Solid] was Psycho Mantis. The idea that a game can actually interact with you, and stuff like that.
So, with Kojima and del Toro still in touch and likely working on something new, we’re really keen to hear more. Sadly no other information was revealed, I guess we’re going to have to just sit and wait while playing P.T. – oh wait…
