Fans of crushing, unrelenting tension and the animatronic jumpscares that follow have just gotten some fresh fuel for speculation, as Scott Cawthon has released a new teaser image for Five Nights at Freddy’s 4: The Final Chapter.
In the spooky-looking picture, a robotic figure resembling a smaller version of Springtrap, the sole physical antagonist from Five Nights at Freddy’s 3, is seen sat on a chair with the cryptic subheading “terrible things come in small packages.”
Five Nights fans have already begun speculating on the meaning behind the teaser, with a number of potentially plausible theories already taking shape.
Their thoughts will be much better than mine, but I’ll bet anything mini-Springtrap is going to act something like the Protozoid Slimers from Duke Nukem 3D in-game. There you are, keeping the eldrich monstrosity versions of the old animatronics out, when suddenly mini-Springtrap climbs up your face and screams at you. Yeugggh.
Whatever turns out to be true, it’s pretty much guaranteed to be insanely freaky.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 4: The Final Chapter is coming to PC on October 31st.
