Hello Games upcoming title No Man’s Sky continues to blow my mind every time I see it. From the stunning visual display to the concept of just being able to explore for hours and hours within limits. That and chasing after random space animals keep me heavily interested and wanting to get hands on with this beautiful game. Now however there is some information that looks to make No Man’s Sky even more engaging. Virtual reality.
In an interview with Edge Magazine, No Man’s Sky creator Sean Murray gave some tiny details on the idea of the VR when asked about No Man’s Sky and the upcoming PlayStation VR headset Project Morpheus saying…
It becomes the most important thing. We’re about growing our IP, this is a long-term decision. We’re going to take Tomb Raider up to the next level. With Microsoft’s belief, passion and sort of muscle to help us deliver, we really think this is going to be an awesome game that people will enjoy for years and years to come.
Seeing as Morpheus and Oculus are set for a release sometime next year we could very well see some form of support for one or both of these devices within No Man’s Sky. It would be stunning to experience No Man’s Sky with VR but at the moment it would seem Hello Games are being careful about what to say for the future.
With still no clear release window for No Man’s Sky it will be some time until we know for sure just if the game will be getting the support. Additionally it is still far too long until we can play the game and lose ourselves in the limitless emptiness of space. Here is hoping we get an announcement for a release date sometime soon. After all, space is waiting.
