With the launch of the OnePlus 2 just around the corner the company are still sharing snippets of information about the new device ahead of time, this time OnePlus has revealed what will be supporting the Snapdragon 810 processor.
In a new forum post, OnePlus has revealed that the 2 will sport the new LPDDR4 RAM with 4GB of it under the hood. The reason for this choice is to not only increase the power in the device but cone again opt for a more efficient and power savvy smartphone.
“With LPDDR4, you’ll see faster loading times, smoother gameplay, and never-before-seen energy saving features,” OnePlus revealed in a forum post.
According to OnePlus the decision to add this RAM into the device is for lower power consumption for better battery efficiency without sacrificing power. With LPDDR4 you get twice the bandwidth performance as LPDDR3 at the same power consumption profile. What’s more it uses a lower operating voltage than its predecessor from 1.2V to 1.1V.
OnePlus also noted that it’s twice as fast too with speeds up to 32 GB/s.
Further in the post, OnePlus reveals that the new RAM paired with the Snapdragon 810 will make the OnePlus 2 even more power efficient, faster, and much smoother.
The OnePlus 2 is expected to be unveiled in full, and likely launched on July 27.
