According to a report by Digital Trends, this year’s Tour de France will offer more up close and personal highlights and ways to keep up to date with racing. Whilst I’m not a sports fan in the slightest, plenty of my friends are Le Tour crazy, so this will no doubt be exciting news for them.
Pro cycling team consortium Velon and Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), the Tour de France organiser have partnered with GoPro to put together a wide range of exciting video of this year’s Tour. Footage will be drawn from all aspects of the race, with more than just rider coverage. We can expect to see material from the team cars and even the mechanics! ASO will also be providing real-time live tracking for all teams, which will work off special trackers placed beneath the bikes’ seats. This is the first time in the history of the event that live tracking has been available so it should add an extra layer of excitement for fans.
All of the teams that are participating in the race will be wearing GoPros to capture all the highs (and lows) of the grueling race. If you are a Tour fan, you can check in with the official social media feeds and website to see all the live footage.
