Daedalic Entertainment has today announced that they’ve teamed up with strategy game experts, Funatics, to create Valhalla Hills, a brand new civilization-building strategy game with humour.
The game, which blends Daedalic’s fantastic trademark humour with classic village and civilization building mechanics, is set to launch in the fourth quarter of 2015 with an Early Access release next month. It tells the story of a Viking Clan struggling to survive in a harsh mountain region as they attempt to build a ‘Valhalla on Earth’.
Set for release into Early Access on August 24, Valhalla Hills is inspired by games like The Settlers 2 but brings in modern mechanics such as procedurally generated mountain landscapes and rogue-like gameplay to “intensify and expand the experience”.
“Funatics and Daedalic are a match made in the heroic halls of Valhalla – two creative powerhouses working together on one great game means gamers can expect wonderful things with Valhalla Hills,” says Carsten Fichtelmann, CEO and founder of Daedalic. “We are very proud of how the game is shaping up and can’t wait to share it with the world.”
