Despite the game’s problems almost immediately after launch, DriveClub has finally redeemed itself and Sony has finally pushed out the PlayStation Plus version of the game. But even before then, the game managed to shift a pretty impressive 2 million copies.
Game director Paul Rustchynsky announced the news on Twitter, sharing an image of a plaque he’d received for hitting the milestone. This figure, it’s worth noting, actually counts copies sold, not shipped, which is a pretty good result, considering. This milestone was also achieved before Sony pushed out the PS Plus version of the game, which offers a stripped-down version for free.
Nearly a year after it’s initial launch, the game seems to remain popular, in fact according to Rustchynsky DrivecClub is “more popular than ever right now.” So that’s a plus.
