Last year, Nvidia released its Shield tablet, badged as the ultimate gaming tablet. However, in a press release from Nvidia this week, a recall has been announced over the possible risk of fire. Apparently the battery can overheat and cause a fire! It’s not all devices, and only affects the 8-inch Nvidia Shield tablet model, sold between July 2014 and July 2015.
Nvidia is offering replacement devices for the suspect tablet and you can find out all the specific details on the official product recall page. The page describes how to check your device’s battery to see if it is one of the affected models. All affected tablets will be replaced at Nvidia’s expense. No other Nvidia products are named in the product recall, so it looks to be an isolated issue.
