After a shaky road to actually becoming a reality, the BBC’s docu-drama, The Gamechangers, has finally been confirmed. There was a lawsuit filed by Take-Two Interactive, Rockstars parent company, and the BBC over trademark infringement, but it seems to have all been sorted out (hopefully), as the BBC have released a trailer for The Gamechangers and a release date.

I’m not sure how the rest of the world will get to see this but I’m sure we’ll find a way. For those who don’t know, the factual drama will throw us back to 2002, where Rockstar Games President Sam Houser(Daniel Radcliffe) fights against legal battles with US lawyer, anti-videogame violence activist and all round tosspot Jack Thompson (Bill Paxton). Though we have heard that because of the lawsuit the concept may have changed slightly to focus more on controversial video games.

I’m hoping we get a “Game over, man” reference at least once but hey, I’m looking forward to this regardless.

You’ll be able to feast your eyes upon Daniel Radcliffe in all his beardy glory on 15 September at 9pm on BBC Two.
