If you’re good at Call Of Duty then prepare yourself. Activision’s new worldwide eSports league with up to $3 million potential winnings.
There’ll be regional competitions and streamed events through the year, with Pro and Challenge divisions. The Pro Division launches in January 2016 with North American, European and Australian teams competing for a spot in the Call Of Duty Championship in autumn. The Challenge Division also offers competitors a chance at getting into the Championships through a series of official LAN events.
So that’s Activision’s big news!.. Not quite my cup of tea but it could’ve been worse, we could’ve got two Fifas in one year! Nonetheless, this could be really good for the eSports scene and might add a lot more interest to competitive FPSs, which let’s be honest is absolutely dominated by Counter Strike Source and GO right now.
