Two big names in Nintendo have revealed they are considering making a Legend of Zelda movie.

The general manager; Takashi Tezuka has said he would be happy to see Link played as a woman:

“It would very fun and awesome if Link was played by a female actress – a boyish female actress,” he told MTV.

Shigeru Miyamoto, the companies “creative fellow” also said he’d be keen on the idea:

“This is something I never imagined because Link is very different to how a Japanese person looks. At the Japanese Expo I attended, there were so many people in cosplay who looked very good.”

Hopefully this will be much better than the last time Nintendo thought it’d be a good idea to make a movie adaptation (Super Mario Bros anyone?) and the highly anticipated yet flat falling The Sprits Within by Hironobu Sakaguchi of Final Fantasy fame as this did nothing to help our favourite video game heroes transition to the big screen.

I would be very happy if this idea were to see the light of day but I can’t help feeling sorry for Link when everyone already thinks that the legends are about a boy called Zelda!
