Today SEGA has announced that not one, but three Football Managers will be launching later this year; Football Manager 2016, Football Manager Mobile 2016, and Football Manager Touch 2016 are set to launch in November 2015.
As you might expect, Football Manager 2016 is the PC release of the footy management sim, which includes all of the bells and whistles you’d expect from a Football Manager game. The other two titles, well.. Football Manager Mobile 2016 is a version of the title for iOS and Android, formerly known as Football Manager Handheld, and offers a more bitesize version of the game to be played on the go.
That means you’re probably wondering what the fluff Football Manager Touch 2016 is, and this is where it gets a little more fun. The Touch edition of the game is essentially an off-screen counterpart of the game designed for “high end” tablets (as well as PC and Mac) letting you get on with the core biz of being a manager while away from the PC. It features cross-save allowing you to play a single career across multiple devices. Those familiar with the series will be more familiar with this being called Football Manager Classic.
“For some time now it’s been clear to us that there is no ‘one size fits all’ football management experience,” Sports Interactive boss Miles Jacobson said. “While a huge number of our fans have the time and dedication required to devote themselves to the ‘full’ simulation, there’s an equally-large number who prefer a more streamlined option.
“Not only that, but the widespread availability of mobile devices means that people are playing in different ways. The introduction of Football Manager Touch as a standalone offering – playable across computer and tablet – means that we now offer something for everyone.”
Football Manager 2016 will be released on Friday, November 13th, with Football Manager Touch and Football Manager Mobile following prior to Christmas 2015.
