With the recent PlayStation exclusive launch of One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 many fans of the series who play on Xbox felt a little left out, but don’t worry as Bandai Namco has just announced a new One Piece game that’ll be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PS Vita in 2016.
It’s called One Piece: Burning Blood and is currently in development over at Japanese studio Spike Chunsoft. It’s build upon the One Piece universe and will offer a “never-seen-before experience thanks to the fast-paced gameplay and unique ONE PIECE elements,” according to Bandai Namco in a press release.
Details are pretty thin at the moment, but Bandai Namco has revealed that Logia Devil Fruits and “Haki” can be used to throw massive special moves and allow you to take down the fastest opponents. More details are set to be revealed soon.
“Meeting our fans on public & private events is a good way to get feedback on our games and see what the expectations are. ONE PIECE: Burning Blood is the perfect example of us creating a game impeccably in-line with fans’ desires. The long awaited pure fighting-game based on the ONE PIECE universe is here! To add to that, we are quite happy to release the game on multiple platforms, especially on a Microsoft console, since it’s the first time ever for a ONE PIECE game.” Hervé Hoerdt, VP Marketing & Digital at Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe.
As a One Piece fan and an Xbox One player, I’m pretty pumped to be able to finally play a One Piece game! Check out the trailer above for a first look at the upcoming fighting game as well as some screenshots below.
