Rise of the Tomb Raider will not include multiplayer mode, according to the Official XBox Magazine. This comes as more than a bit of a surprise, considering Lara Crofts’ most recent venture was complete with online shenanigans, but I’m sure Square Enix have their reasons.
2013’s Tomb Raider boasted both a single campaign and multiplayer mode, but the focus for Rise Of The Tomb Raider seems to be aimed at offline campaign missions only, potentially putting a damper on some of the hype that’s been generated.
It does seem a bit odd, because generally games should be adding more and more content with each sequel, rather than subtracting elements. One can only hope that this suggests the campaign will be long and glorious, seeing as the work won’t be split between offline and online playability. Fingers crossed.
