It’s that time of year again folks, where EA Sports’ football title, FIFA 16 dominates the UK charts for the majority of the holiday season, that is until Call of Duty launches, then it’s a battle for the top-spot.
FIFA 16 launched on September 24 and unsurprisingly shot straight to number one, though sales are down by around 7 per cent over last year’s week-one sales. Revenue on the otherhand is only down 4 per cent due to the transition towards newer consoles. In fact, in terms of sale acquisition, last year last-gen consoles accounted for almost 50 per cent of sales, now, they only account for 19.
Last week’s number one, Destiny: The Taken King is down in second place, followed by Forza Motorsport 6, and Pro Evolution Soccer 2016. Another new entry this week in fourth place is Activision’s toys to life game, Skylanders Superchargers, hitting three positions higher than Skylanders Trap Team which launched last year. Skylanders Superchargers has already scored £1 million this week through Chart-Track’s panel of retailers.
The final new release within the Top 40 Blood Bowl II for PS4 and Xbox One which landed in 15th place.
