As the first of a few big-name releases launch this month, the UK gaming charts are hotting up, but is Konami onto a winner? Maybe so, as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is still in first place despite stiff competition from Super Mario Maker.
Sales of Konami’s open-world stealth game have declined a lot, by 78 per cent over week one, but that still wasn’t enough for Nintendo’s latest title Super Mario Maker which debuts in second place this week.
Good news for Nintendo however, as Super Mario Maker became the fourth best week one selling title for a Wii U game, coming behind Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros., and Nintendo Land.
Last week’s second place holder, Mad Max has fallen to third place this week, which sits in front of Disney Infinity 3.0 which climbs a place this week. Until Dawn drops down to fifth place, followed by Gears of War: Ultimate Edition in sixth.
Other new releases this week is Sony’s Tearaway Unfolded which came in at number thirty three.
