Although reports are suggesting Rise of the Tomb Raider will have nothing in the way of a multiplayer mode, similar to that found in the 2013 release of Tomb Raider, there’s good news, as Microsoft has revealed that players will be able to compete with friends.

Unfortunately details are pretty thin right now, but it seems Crystal Dynamics is working on a way for players to compete within the campaign, whether it be leader boards or co-operative challenges.

Speaking with Videogamer.com, Microsoft told the publication that players can expect a feature which will “extend” the single-player campaign and mentioned the ability to “compete” with friends.

“In the coming weeks and months, stay tuned for more info on all things Rise of the Tomb Raider,” said Microsoft.

This has lead to speculation that Rise of the Tomb Raider will have some sort of line competitive mode as part of the single player campaign, though there’s still no real idea what this could be.

Expect more details in the coming weeks.

Rise of the Tomb Raider launches on Xbox One and Xbox 360 this November 10.
