Sorry GAME Customers, no Fallout 4 Pip-boy Editions For you!

Following the events from last week, which saw UK retailer GAME contact a number of customers to say that their Fallout 4 Pip-boy Edition orders have been cancelled, only to reassure customers that they’d still be getting them at launch, GAME has now confirmed that some customers won’t be getting a Pip-boy Edition after all.

Today marks the launch of one of the most anticipated games of 2015, Fallout 4, and while for most the launch has gone smoothly, a number of people have been left angered at GAME for the way they’ve handled the shortage of stock for the limited edition Pip-boy Edition of Fallout 4.

Last week a number of emails were sent out to customers claiming payment problems had caused some orders to be cancelled and encouraged customers to call their customer service department to get the issue solved. That evening GAME assured players that their pre-orders were safe.

This brings us onto today, where GAME finally ‘fessed up and revealed that some customers won’t be getting them after all:

Evening, all. We’d like to give an update to those customers that have pre-ordered the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition online and experienced payment issues.

As we have previously communicated to those customers affected, we have been unable to process some orders for Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition due to their bank / PayPal not allowing payment to go through.

Since Friday, our customer service team has been working hard to contact those customers who had their payments rejected by their bank / PayPal. We have been taking updated details from those customers and re-ordering their Pip-Boy Edition, in time for release day. We have reached lots of customers since Friday and if you have replaced your order with us by phone today before 15:30 then your order was processed and dispatched today.

We’re really sorry if you have already contacted us about your order, and we have not been able to speak to you. There are a number of customers we have not yet been able to call and we have contacted them via email this evening.

We would ask that if you have not been able to replace your order by phone yet, don’t worry your order is still reserved and being held for you in our distribution centre. We want to assure you that we are working through your requests and will get to your order as soon as we possibly can to ensure you receive your Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition.

New emails shipped out to customers have also said the same thing:

[su_quote style=”default”]If we haven’t heard from you or haven’t been able to speak to you by telephone sadly it is now too late for you to receive your Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition on release day. But we are working extremely hard to contact you to re-place your order as soon as possible.

Many customers have left unhappy comments on the Facebook post, many claiming that customer services offered no help and that when contacting their bank, they discovered that GAME hadn’t actually tried to take any payment, at all.

Right now it seems that GAME are none-the-wiser as to what’s actually happening, though due to the version’s limited nature and high demand, it wouldn’t surprise me if GAME took a little too many pre-orders and is now cancelling orders due to the short supply.

We’ll keep you updated on any developments.

They have ALWAYS been horrible with this kind of stuff. I mean, literally it's been happening for years and has happened to me before. But they get a lot of the "exclusive" rights for Limited Editions so you're forced to buy from a company with an awful website and sub-par customer service.
