While some have been feeling that Star Wars Battlefront launched with a lack of content (no dedicated singleplayer notably) a recent post on the EA Star Wars website is telling a tale of upcoming free DLC.
In the post, Executive Vice President of EA studios, Patrick Söderlund, has confirmed that more free content will be coming after the Battle of Jakku pack.
The Battle of Jakku pack, which is coming out in about 2 weeks time, is set 29 years before the events of the upcoming Episode VII to help tie the game into the film. The pack includes 2 new maps and a whole new mode. On top of this Söderlund confirmed that more free content will be coming in the form of maps and Star Cards. He had this to say:
Of course, we are also planning to support Star Wars Battlefront with new content well into the future. We will be adding more of what you love about the game, like new maps and Star Cards, for free in the coming months, in addition to all of the content we have coming with Season Pass. We’ll have more to share soon.
Star Wars Battlefront is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
