After last week’s launch, you’ll never guess which post-nuclear war video game has become number one as well as the third best selling game of the year? That’s right, Bethesda’s Fallout 4!
As you may have guessed, the highly anticipated Fallout 4 has become this week’s UK Number One beating the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and FIFA 16, though in terms of best launches, it comes behind those two. As well as the aforementioned accolades, Fallout 4 also scores the best selling title in the series, too.
The game managed to out-sell Fallout: New Vegas at launch by over 200 per cent.
Another new entry this week was the Xbox exclusive, Rise of the Tomb Raider, which climbs into fourth place this week. Sales were of course split only between the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 with more players, 85 per cent to be exact, opting for the Xbox One version.
Telltale’s Minecraft: Story Mode shows impressive growth this week climbing into fifth place, while Need for Speed drops six places down to sixth place.
Another new entry into the charts is Football Manager 2016 which manages to score seventh place. Pretty impressive considering a lot of PC sales are made digitally. In comparison, another PC launch with StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void only manages to secure twenty-third place this week.
