XSEED Announces Senran Kagura: Estival Versus Limited Edition

If you’re into anime, big combos, beat-’em-ups and ridiculous levels of shameless fanservice you’ve probably heard of the Senran Kagura series. Marvelous’ equally loved and maligned franchise currently covers a number of 3DS and Vita games that take the player through a modern “rival ninja clans” drama that also happens to involve a lot of boob physics, clothing health meters and general silliness. Most of the time.

Despite its detractors the series has cultivated a fanbase in the West, a fanbase big enough that XSEED have announced that they’ll be throwing a limited edition of the upcoming PS4/PSVita title Senran Kagura: Estival Versus our way.

The limited edition will include a two-disc soundtrack CD and, in typical Senran Kagura fashion, a randomly chosen set of “pin-up cards” featuring the series’ ever-increasing roster of heroines. The whole package is slated to cost around $59.99 for the PS4 and $49.99 for the Vita.

SK Estival Versus #2Estival Versus is the latest entry in the franchise, and the first to arrive on a home (read: not portable) console. Alongside the foregone conclusion of more fanservice, the PS4 title will feature 10-player online brawls (4 on Vita), over two dozen characters made up of new faces and old favourites and upgraded movesets for them to use.

If you can get past the more questionable parts of the series (or welcome them, whatever takes your fancy), there’s every chance there might be a lot of over-the-top fun to be had once Senran Kagura: Estival Versus releases on PS4 and PS Vita in Q1 2016.
