The upcoming Fable Legends, the next entry in the long loved Fable series was meant to have played it’s hand this year. As part of Microsoft’s big line up for 2015 we have to ask, where is Fable Legends?
Fable Legends was set to be a big player in Microsoft’s 2015 plans for both Windows 10 and Xbox One. As we come towards the end of the year we have not heard much on Fable Legends or even the beta which was said to begin before the end of the year. In fact both Microsoft and developer Lionhead have been very quiet about any news regarding Fable Legends.
GameInformer reached out to Microsoft for a comment on the whereabouts of Fable Legends but were unable to get any real answer other then the project is still on track.
“We are continuing to expand our closed beta and will have more details to share in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!”
There is no answer for what is causing the delay in the release of Fable Legends but it could probably be related to the release of Windows 10. Issues may have arisen in Fable Legends development due to Microsoft rolling out Windows 10 half way through the game’s development and making the game an integral part of that launch. At this point however there is no official word on if this may be the case but it is fair to suggest such a reason.
For those that don’t remember, Fable Legends is a free-to-play four-versus-one adventure game which pits four heroes against one overlord player who is in control of traps, enemies and more. The heroes of course just need to overcome whatever is placed in their way and battle to the end. Fable Legends is set to feature cross-play between Xbox One and Windows 10.
So as we continue to wait for Fable Legends news and a chance to play it I think it would be safe to say that it might be best to just go focus on something else for now. We could be waiting a long time.
