Well-known leaker, @evleaks a.k.a Evan Blass, has revealed a huge amount of information about the upcoming LG G5, which will launch in Q1 of 2016.
According to VentureBeat who first reported the leak, the G5 will have an all-metal body with a 5.3-inch screen on the front. This marks a slight decrease on its predecessor, the G4, which had a 5.5-inch but it will have the same QHD resolution. It’ll also include the ‘ticker’ display like the one seen on the recently released V10.
Other specs include: a Snapdragon 820 processor (compared to the 808 on the G4), the same 32GB of storage and 3GB of RAM but also a dual camera on the back. This means the main 16MP camera will have a wide angle viewing of 135 degrees. Its front facing camera will be 8MP like the G4. However, the battery looks set to decrease from 3000 mAh to 2800, although the smaller screen should mean there will be similar battery life. There’s also going to be a fingerprint scanner on the back like the V10.
Another interesting feature about this device is its ‘Magic Slot’. The details as to how this will work are unclear at the moment but it’ll allow you to use a variety of accessories with the G5 such as a full physical keyboard.
Of course, until LG actually announce something, which could be possible at CES in a few weeks time, take this information with a pinch of salt.
