Developer 5pb have announced that their former Xbox One exclusive title Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness will be releasing on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
The game is set to release sometime in spring next year with no release date confirmed just yet. The Xbox One version of the game was launched in May 2015 and was met with positive feedback. The writer for the games is the same as the anime, Gen Urobuchi.
The anime and game of Psycho-Pass are set in a not so far off dystopian future where the world is in ruin expect for Japan which continues to live thanks to a system number as ‘psycho pass’. It’s a system that scans and predicts who will commit a crime and then orders help or terminate of them. The series follows a group of law enforcers who need to upkeep the system at the same time as trying to understand it and learn the secrets behind it. If your a fan of sci-fi I strongly recommend the series.
There is also no news on if the PlayStation versions of the game will include any additional features or bonus or if it is a simple straight port. Regardless the jump of platform can only be a good thing for the game and it’s fans.
Though there is still no word on a western release of the game we can hope that with the jump to PlayStation and the ever growing fan base here in the West that the developers soon make the game available. Not only that but word on a third series of the anime is still in the air as the film ended on a cliff hanger that really could do with being answered. Here is hoping for news on that soon as well.
Until any more details are released, make sure to check out the Psycho-Pass anime.
