Well, it look likes Supergirl may just be here to stay, with show receiving a full season order over on CBS, but it has been confirmed that there are currently no plans for a crossover with The CW’s The Flash.
Traditionally a full season order brings a show up to 22 episodes, and Supergirl will only be receiving an additional 7 episodes to bring it up to a total of 20, but CBS is still labelling it as a full season pick-up nonetheless. While there are certainly those who are not a fan of CBS’ female-led superhero drama, this does come as good news for fans of the series, especially as this is the first step towards a potential season renewal.
As for the previously reported Supergirl/The Flash crossover (you can check out previous article here, but it may seem a bit redundant in light of the following news), both shows’ executive producer Greg Berlanti has officially denied any plans for such an event at this current point in time. Berlanti spoke at an advanced screening for Arrow/The Flash: Heroes Unite (this week’s annual Arrow/The Flash crossover event), where he was asked about whether or not preliminary discussions in regards to a crossover, saying that there are no plans “at this point”.
