At The Game Awards 2015, Harmonix announced their newest project, Rock Band VR for the Oculus Rift.

As the video shows, players can now be completely immersed in the world of Rock Band through the power of the Oculus Rift, being on stage, playing your magical floating guitar. The video also shows how the Harmonix team learned how to be real rockstars, from the real band Dragonforce, the real international superstars themselves – see below.

This of course is Oculus’ “Special Announcement” which was teased by both founder Palmer Luckey and Geoff Keighley. Unfortunately we’re yet to still hear a solid release date other than “Q1 2016”, we’re also yet to hear of a price.

I’m unsure how the Oculus will work on consoles or if it’s instead coming to PC, but I’ll keep an eye on this gem as we get closer to its 2016 release.
