Digital Extremes’ free-to-play third person action game Warframe seems to doing pretty well for itself, a trend that the developers will surely be hoping to bolster further with a huge new update titled “The Second Dream”, which adds a whole new “cinematic” quest as well as a number of other new features.
One of the biggest features of the update is the eponymous “The Second Dream” cinematic quest, which involves the Tenno-hunting Stalker trying a new tactic to wiping the species out by exploiting “a long forgotten secret” that cuts to the heart of what it means to be a Tenno.
Among many other new features such as the new super-difficult “Sortie” missions intended for solo or co-op play with veteran players and the new Orokin Moonbase PvP map, the update also includes a new archery-themed Warframe named Ivara. Armed with (oddly enough) a bow, she’s able to deploy a variety of different arrow types, guide projectiles remotely, summon the almighty Artemis bow and more.
If you haven’t tried Warframe yet, this new update might be the perfect opportunity to do so – whilst I’d recommend getting one of the paid starter packs as the game’s free-to-play nature hits home quite quickly, there’s a lot of fun to be found in slicing up enemies and using your wide array of acrobatic moves, especially with friends.
The Warframe client can be downloaded for PC through Steam or directly through the game’s website, and the game is also available available on PS4 and Xbox One.
