Dying Light developer Techland has been frequently showing support for its community after the launch of the Dying Light Dev Tools, a toolkit that allows modders to create unique and interesting maps within the Dying Light universe. Unfortunately these have always been limited to the PC version of the game, but there’s good news, Techland has revealed that community maps will start coming to console too!
Techland is set to host a live-stream on Twitch on January 23 at 10am PT to discuss the addition of community maps on console, which you can watch here.
“We said on many different occasions how much we enjoy playing maps created by our fans, but now the time has come to show it.” – summarizes Michał Napora, community manager. – “There’s so much variety and ingenuity in there, even more so since we added co-op and PvP support. One more thing: we will be making select maps available on consoles, and we will play some of them this Saturday!”
Techland are set to announce a list and release dates of community maps for consoles in a future announcement. At the moment, it seems focus is set on the release of Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition, a brand new version of the game which comes with all DLC as well as the upcoming expansion, The Following.
Techland recently unveiled a new addition to the Dying Light Dev Tools too, which has added co-op and PvP support within the game, allowing creators to build deathmatches and more.
