EA has confirmed in their third quarter earnings call, that a new Titanfall title is on the way at some point in the next fiscal year. They also confirmed that Mass Effect is also in its lineup for the latter half of the year.
EA is of course talking about their Fiscal Year 2017, which runs from April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017. So with EA and Respawn Entertainment’s partnership being confirmed in the call, a new Titanfall game may certainly be launching at some point later this year, though we already knew that.
Respawn Entertainment announced that Titanfall 2 is in the works, and will be a multi platform affair. The original game launched exclusively on Xbox and PC, with a PlayStation release never happening. The second game on the other hand, will likely launch for all platforms, and will most likely include a more robust campaign.
Interestingly, EA are calling the game a “new Titanfall experience,” whatever that means.
As for other games on the publisher’s release slate, they confirmed that Mass Effect is in its line up for the second half of the year, which means there’s a possibility of either a holiday 2016 release, or an early 2017 release.
Titanfall will join the likes of Battlefield next year as we’ve already had confirmation that a core Battlefield game is set to launch in FY 2017.
It’s worth noting that the above release windows are purely speculation on our part as EA hasn’t confirmed whether Titanfall or Mass Effect will be launching in 2016. So take them with a pinch of salt.
