LG has revealed their fourth quarter financial results and their mobile division isn’t looking exactly the most lucrative part of their business, nonetheless, they also revealed that despite this, they’ll be launching two new handsets this year.
We’re already pretty sure that LG is to unveil the LG G5 this year thanks to a number of photo and information leaks. LG is also holding a press conference at the Mobile World Congress later this year too, which we presume one of these handsets it to be unveiled.
Aside from the predictable LG G5 release however, LG may have something else up their sleeves as they plan to announce another flagship device at some point this year. In their financial report, LG wrote:
“The smartphone marketplace is expected to be increasingly competitive in 2016 due to anticipated premium models from competitors and further price competition within the mass tier space. The introduction of two new flagship models and a more cost-competitive value chain is expected to improve profitability in 2016.”
Chances are, as well as the LG G5, LG may release a successor to its recently released LG V10 as it seems LG has abandoned the G Pro series altogether as there was no new G Pro handset last year. We can also presume LG’s new handsets may target both high and mid-range markets.
