Sometimes when you look at the way some games evolve, you often realise that there’s more to the name than you first thought, like Mortal Kombat X for example. With today’s announcement of a brand new complete edition titled Mortal Kombat XL, it makes you wonder whether that was the plan all along?
That obviously isn’t the case, it’s just the kind of thing that goes through my mind after being in front of a computer screen since 9AM.
ANYWAY. On to the actual news. Warner Bros. Interactive has today announced the release of Mortal Kombat XL a new fully-loaded edition of the game which bundles together the original game from April last year, and all of its DLC which launched thereafter including the upcoming Kombat Pack 2.
Set to launch on March 4 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Mortal Kombat XL includes the base game, the Kombat Pack, and the upcoming Kombat Pack 2 which features new playable characters the Xenomorph from Alien, Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre horror film series, Triborg and Bo’Rai Cho.
In addition, there’s a never released Apocalypse Skin Pack, as well as previously released content including playable Goro, Brazil Skin Pack, Kold War Skin Pack and Kold War Scorpion Skin.
For fans of the series who are yet to pick up Mortal Kombat X, this new complete edition seems like the perfect place to start.
