What better way to win back fans of your game after you royally screwed them over than to ask them to stump up more cash for DLC which makes literally no sense? Sounds silly right, well that’s what Overkill have done with some new DLC for the PC version of Payday 2.
We all know about Payday 2’s god-awful hiccup last year right? When they introduced microtransactions despite promising they wouldn’t, then offered a half-assed apology, only to then say that microtransactions are here to stay. Yeah, that happened. So now in the hopes to bring fans back to the game, here’s some DLC, involving a goat.
Now, don’t get me wrong, Goat Simulator is a truly fantastic game. It’s hilarious, and its recent expansions have made the game even more cracking, hell, even collaborations with Bossa Studios with I Am Bread is also a stroke of genius, but this? This just seems odd.
Not to mention, everyone had their laughs about Goat Simulator when it launched two years ago.
The Goat Simulator Heist includes a new two-day heist, one new shotgun, four new melee weapons, four masks, four patterns, four materials and five new achievements. There’s also two new songs by Simon Viklund, which is nice, I guess.
Unfortunately fans still aren’t too happy.
It seems like Overkill are clutching at straws here, hoping throwing Goat Simulator at players would turn those frowns upside down. Though asking them to pay for the privilege is a bit of a piss take, right?
The DLC will be available on January 14, for $7.99. I mean, I get the idea, but… really?
