Rise of the Tomb Raider arrives on PC on January 28th, and as if to celebrate Square Enix have released a video feature going into detail on some of the new graphical effects available to players in the PC version.
Get those GPUs ready because if this video’s anything to go by Rise of the Tomb Raider at maximum settings is sure to give them a workout, showing off among other things NVIDIA’s HBAO+ Ambient Occlusion system to give a realistic shadowing effect on all parts of the environment, advanced Anisotropic Filtering to improve the appearance of distant textures, Dynamic Foliage, Hardware Tessellation to improve the 3D effect on rock and brick textures and more.
Here’s hoping that the gorgeous visuals will have some equally enjoyable puzzle solving and platforming gameplay to compliment it too. With the game receiving some pretty decent reviews all round on Xbox One, even from our own Alex Edwards-Wise, it’s going to be interesting seeing what the PC crowd makes of the game too.
Take a look at the Rise of the Tomb Raider PC Tech Feature in the video above.
