Iron Maiden are probably one of the more iconic rock bands which hail from the UK whose music continues to impress. Their last album which launched in September last year shot straight to the top of the charts in various countries, and now they’re releasing a game!
That’s right, Roadhouse Interactive, 50cc Games, and Iron Maiden have announced today the new Iron Maiden-themed RPG, Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast, a free-to-play action-packed RPG full of Maiden mythology as well as the band’s iconic mascot, Eddie.
Players will take the role of Eddie in his many forms from over the year, each of which have their own unique abilities,a s they explore worlds, travel through time, and battle a cast of beasts and characters from the band’s impressive catalogue of albums and artwork.
As you might expect, the game’s soundtrack comprises of mostly Iron Maiden songs too, as well as previously unheard live recordings of Iron Maiden classics which have been adapted for the game by Tony Newton and Maiden bass player, Steve Harris.
On the game, Harris said:
“We know many of our fans are gamers and we have long thought that Eddie and Maiden’s music and imagery would be perfect for this. It’s something we have been looking at revisiting since Ed Hunter way back in 1999. Now in 2016 it can all be done on a smartphone so it makes it even more accessible for Maiden fans everywhere and also all the gamers out there.”
Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast is set to launch on iOS and Android soon.
