The Witcher 3 is right at the top of everyone’s game of the year lists by the end of 2015, and with the release of most of the game’s planned DLC, it wouldn’t be surprising if CD Projekt RED decided to release a GOTY edition, or as some listings have possibly hinted, an “Enhanced Edition”. Though according to CDPR, they’re not correct.
French retailer e-leclerc has listed an “Enhanced Edition” of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to be released next month on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but according to CD Projekt RED, that’s a complete error.
“There’s no Enhanced Edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that we are aware of, this is some kind of error that we will look into,” said CD Projekt on its official forums.
Like I said, an enhanced or game of the year edition of one of last year’s biggest games wouldn’t be too much of a surprise, and the previous editions of the game both received an Enhanced Edition, so it may just be CDPR doing damage control due to an over excited retailer.
I wouldn’t say an Enhanced Edition is completely out of the question, but right now I wouldn’t hold your breath.
