Seeing how successful the multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2 was, and still is incredibly popular, it came as a surprise to everyone when Avalanche Studios announced there would be no multiplayer mode in Just Cause 3. Fortunately, a multiplayer mod is.
The Just Cause 3 multiplayer mod is in the works and is being developed by the same team who created the multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2. Unfortunately details are thin as it seems work has only just begun, but the developers have promised “frequent updates on our progress,” which is definitely a plus.
Avalanche actually revealed in 2014 that they may work on a multiplayer mode at some point, but “don’t expect” fans to take on such a challenge. Fortunately, fans are doing just that. Whether Avalanche embrace the mod like it did with Just Cause 2 remains to be seen, but chances are they may do just that, if not more.
The mod for Just Cause 2 actually received an official release on Steam, but that came almost 3 years later, so considering Just Cause 3 has only been available for a month, we’re unsure whether Avalanche would allow as much freedom this soon, especially when they’re still trying to combat bugs.
Just for good measure however, the team behind the mod has released a trailer for the JC3-MP mod.
