With Yakuza 5 finally making the jump overseas last month, SEGA and Play-Asia have announced that titled Yakuza: Kiwami, a remaster of the original PS2 game for PlayStation 3 & 4, will be releasing tomorrow, January 21st. What’s the catch? Say it with me – (as of yet) it’s only releasing in Japan.
Yakuza – or Ryu Ga Gotoku – Kiwami is a commemorative release marking the franchise’s 10-year anniversary, and as such it looks like some particularly snazzy goodies are on offer in the special “DX” edition, including among other things a really nice looking Yakuza-emblazoned glass with a similarly marked wooden box to store it in.
If you fancy giving it an import, Yazuza: Kiwami can be pre-ordered from here, with the regular Japanese PS3 and PS4 versions of the game currently costing £37.85 – before postage and packing, of course.
Here’s hoping we’ll be getting some news on an international release sooner rather than later. The West loves them some Kazuma Kiriyu too, people!
