Word on the new Star Trek TV front is that one of the originals has signed on to help with the new series.
Nicholas Meyer has signed onto the writing staff for the show, and will also be utilized as a consulting producer. Meyers is no stranger to the Trekkie universe, having directed (and co-wrote, uncredited) Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, co-written Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, and co-wrote and directed Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.
He can also count Oscar nominee and Emmy nominee among his titles.
The new series is scheduled to launch in early 2017, but nothing more specific has been released. The first US episode will air on CBS, and all subsequent episodes will be available exclusively thru CBS’s streaming service.
I can’t wait to see where this goes. My father is a Trekkie, and he raised me to be a little trekkie, so this is a life long thing for me. Here’s hoping that this series lives up to the hype.
