After having the Forza racing series tied to the Xbox console for a good number of years now, it looks like Microsoft may finally be bringing the series to PC, though it’ll be testing the waters first before launching a fully-fledged version of Forza.
Coming to Windows 10 this spring, Forza Motorsport 6: Apex will be the first time the series has landed on PC, but don’t expect a full version of Forza 6 as Apex will be a free-to-play version of the main game which launched on Xbox One last year.
According to today’s announcement, Forza Motorsport 6: Apex is a free, “curated standalone for Windows 10 that provides fans with a diverse tour of what Forza Motorsport 6 has to offer”. It’ll include features we’re familiar with from the main franchise including Drivatar racers, and Forzavista cars.
Apex is also set to take advantage of DirectX12 bringing great visuals to the game up to 4K resolution. In terms of other content coming in the free version, or what is missing in comparison to the Xbox One release, is yet to be detailed.
