You have no idea what that is, do you? That’s alright, I didn’t either until a few days ago, when I retweeted an announcement about the project because it sounded interesting. The developers then followed me and actually started a conversation about what brought my attention to their project. I love social developers like that!
So I decided to tell you all about it.
First, the developers are called Interabang Entertainment. They’re an independent group of developers that actually already has another game out (called SuperComboMan, and it available on Steam, should you want to see some of their work).
They are currently looking to crowdfund “Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch” via Fig. The Fig campaign goal is $400k, and they are currently sitting at almost $204k as of this writing. Of course, they also have 23 days left to raise the remainder. Plenty of time!
Next, the game. Those who are Jay and Silent Bob fans will be glad to know that Jason Mews and Kevin Smith are actually involved in the game, and that Interabang is committed to keeping the game true to the world created in the Jay and Silent Bob franchise. This is #1 on the things that I love about this project: Loyalty.
Second, it’s a fighting game. I love fighting games. It’s going to be an insane fighting game too, from the looks of it. Here, have some screenshots:
So, to recap: Great looking game with great characters, character loyalty with the help of the View Askew crew (ha, that rhymes), and a great group of developers that seem determined to make this game as great as we all think it’s going to be.
As it is being crowdfunded, they could use more backers should you feel so inclined. For those of you who do, you can find their Fig campaign here: Interabang’s Jay & Silent Bob Fig. You can also follow them here at @InterabangEnt for twitter, where I found them. I can’t wait to see what this game looks like.
