Image & Form have today announced the first add-on content for their acclaimed strategy shooter for Nintendo 3DS, SteamWorld Heist. It’s called The Outsider and introduces a new plot, missions, and more.
The Outsider, described by the developer as an unconventional add-on, brings a ton of new content which blends seamlessly into the game, meaning that you’ll be able to start a new game and find all of the content from the add-on right from the start.
The Outsider will cost £4.49 and will bring a new plot, missions, enemies, end boss, guns, utilities, and a ton of new hats to the game. It’ll also introduce a new character too called Fen. Fen is the latest member of your Heist crew and is an unlikely ally. A Vectorian outcast, Fen has broken the ties to the hive mind and becomes a pretty key member of your team.
“Fen’s got some really fearsome firepower and clever upgrade mechanics that turn kills into own health and massive damage to others,” says Image & Form CEO Brjann Sigurgeirsson. “Busting up metal has never been this rewarding!”
The new content is available today and can be purchased from the Nintendo eShop. Additionally, SteamWorld Heist will also receive a substantial free update bringing more languages to the game, as well as expanding the inventory a little giving players more empty slots to fill with loot. These new slots will also be less taxing on players water reserves. There’s also more utilities and more hats too, all for free!
Installing the free update makes The Outsider available from within SteamWorld Heist.
