Dota 2 fans rejoice as the tickets for the 2016 international Dota 2 Championships go on sale today.
There have been a number of changes to the way that the tickets will be sold this year following feedback from last years event. This should in turn make it easier for everyone to get hold of tickets however it mean you’ll need to do a few more clicks.
Tickets will go on sale via Ticketmaster in two waves. The first batch will go live at 10am PT today. You can find a list of corresponding international times on Valve’s own event page here. The second wave is set to go on sale 12 hours later at 10pm PT. Though you will now have two chances to buy tickets there are also now two tickets for sale. You can get yourself a ‘Midweek Ticket’ and a ‘Finals Ticket’. Midweek allows access to the opening ceremony and the first four days of the event and the All-Star match. The Finals ticket provides you with access to the final two days of The International. The midweek tickets will sell for $75 USD with Final Tickets going for $100. Valve will also be hosting an outdoor event space for those who didn’t get Final tickets to watch the event outside.
Valve also explained they will be doing giveaways during The International by providing prizes for every ‘First Blood’ in a match. A random ticket holder will be selected and the Steam ID, linked to their badges, will be used for the giveaway.
The 2016 International Dota 2 Championship is set to take place from 8th – 13th August, at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington.
