For the past couple of weeks The Division has absolutely dominated the UK Gaming Charts scoring a total of four consecutive number ones, however, with the launch of one of Microsoft’s big exclusives for the Xbox One this year, things have been put on pause for Ubisoft’s RPG.
Microsoft has secured its first number one this year with the launch of Xbox One exclusive, Quantum Break (which also launched digitally on Win10), which managed to not only beat The Division to death, but also knock aside DiRT Rally, another new entry this week.
Quantum Break is Microsoft’s first number one since the launch of Halo 5: Guardians which launched in November last year.
Speaking of DiRT Rally, the retail edition of Codemaster’s latest entry into the DiRT series, which has recently launched out of early access on PC, gave Quantum Break a run for its money landing in second place this week pushing The Division down t second place.
In terms of the DiRT series overall, DiRT Rally is an impressive debut over previous titles, as it outsold 2012’s DiRT Showdown by 197% in launch week. It’s also the third best selling DiRT game in the series behind Colin McRae: Dirt 2 and Dirt 3’s opening week sales.
As well as four wheeled racers, this week saw another racing launch, this time on two wheels with MXGP 2: The Official Motocross Videogame from PQube which lands in 17th place this week.
