Blizzard has today announced the launch of the next big expansion for their MMORPG World of Warcraft, entitled Legion, will be launching on August 30.
The sixth expansion for Blizzard Entertainment’s insanely popular MMO is set to see the return of one of Azeroth’s great enemies, The Burning Legion. Following on from the events in Warlords of Draenor, all hell is set to break loose when Gul’dan unleashes a demonic invasion across the land unlike anything the Horde and Alliance have ever faced.
Bringing new areas to explore as well as new powerful Artefact weapons, players must forge a pact with the Demon Hunter, a brand new playable class also coming with the new expansion.
“Legion opens a dark and thrilling new chapter in one of the Warcraft series’ greatest conflicts, and things will never be the same for some of Azeroth’s most iconic heroes and villains,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “This expansion is loaded with features and content that give players whole new ways to explore the world and customize their heroes. We’re looking forward to sending everyone into battle against the Burning Legion this August.”
Players can pre-purchase Legion digitally over on the game’s website. Those who do pre-purchase will unlock an instant level-100 character boost, as well as early access to the Demon Hunter class.
Theere are two pre-purchase options, a Standard Edition which is both physical and digital for £34.99, there’s also the ability to upgrade the pre-purchase to a Digital Deluxe Edition for £49.99 that’ll give players a ton of content for other Blizzard games, such as Heroes of the Storm, Diablo III, and StarCraft II.
