Following our earlier post, Bandai Namco has now unveiled what’s next in store for Dragon Ball fans: Dragon Ball Xenoverse, the sequel to last year’s title that’s set to be the most expansive and comprehensive Dragon Ball video game experience “to date.”
Currently in development over at DIMPS, the game is set to launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and digitally on PC.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is set to harness the power of current-gen systems and PCs, and builds upon the game before it, which will immerse players into the “largest and most detailed Dragon Ball world ever developed.”
The first game had players investigating a series of time-based wrong-doings where someone was altering the history of the Dragon Ball series, players, who could create their own characters, travelled through time to make sure things happened how they always have and that the course of time wasn’t altered forever.
“As the franchise is celebrating its 30th Anniversary, Dragon Ball games are a fan-favorite within BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment’s huge videogame portfolio and DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 will surely build upon that illustrious legacy. The first DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE game was a massive success and allowed millions of players to fulfil one of their dreams: have their own avatar and character in the DRAGON BALL universe! With DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2, we’re working closely with the team at DIMPS to push this experience to new heights.” said Hervé Hoerdt, VP of Marketing & Digital at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe.
Right now, no release date for the game has been revealed. Here’s an announcement trailer:
